A Message from Syngenta
While there have been incredible innovations in the professional pest management industry over the years, sustained success comes down to the quality of the people. That’s why we’re congratulating you on earning a spot among the elite in PCT magazine’s 2022 Top 100 list.
Over the years, we’ve seen the pest management profession become more diverse and inclusive, which has accelerated the flow of new ideas that keep the industry growing. Annual events and groups, such as the NPMA’s Women’s Forum, Diversity Council and the Professional Women in Pest Management committee, help ensure diversity continues to be a key focus and asset for our industry.
Inclusiveness is increasingly crucial, as virtually every global industry is facing more challenges than ever in finding and keeping good employees. Deloitte polled 5,000 women across 10 countries for its recent Women @ Work 2022: A Global Outlook survey, finding that companies with a respectful, inclusive culture see higher levels of employee motivation, productivity and retention.1
Diversity isn’t just good for culture: it’s also good for business. A case study by McKinsey & Company in 2020 revealed companies with more than 30% women executives were more likely to outperform companies where this percentage ranged from 10-30%. Findings on ethnic and cultural diversity were similar.2
At Syngenta, we understand our success reflects the quality and skill of our diverse workforce. We all benefit from diversity and inclusion initiatives that bring awareness and encourage dialogue, such as webinars, expert panels, trainings and stories. Brandon Bell, North America Diversity & Inclusion Lead at Syngenta, has guided us in open conversations and efforts to broaden our perspectives, and we’re excited to hear more from him as this year’s keynote speaker.
Our business is powered by our people, and our latest product coming soon this summer is a prime example. As we looked to expand our portfolio offering, we were inspired to develop a dry flowable bait that targets tough pests like ants and cockroaches in hard-to-reach voids and harborage areas. This innovation wouldn’t have been possible without the collective power of a diverse group of professionals — from those in the lab, to those in the field. We’re proud to continually support you and others in the industry by helping to provide a life uninterrupted by pests.
Again, congratulations for being considered one of the top companies in 2022. Our industry couldn’t have kept growing without you.
